Within the Mekong Delta
community of Vietnam, business is an art
and a way of life . Its lands
are vast and rich in nutrients, fostering global
productivity of rice and fruits.
But cultivating its wealth depends on the ability
to maneuver through its
intricate network of tangled waterways
and swamps. It also requires a creativity to build
such tools as “monkey bridges”
and “houses on stilts”
to master its flooded regions.
Yet, it is ultimately the stability of
its vessels and the vision of
its navigators that brings prosperity
to a particular product amid a hub of commerce
called “floating markets.”
